Yes it keeps the big gray squirrels from getting the bird seed. Wired it shut and they still climb on it and shake seed out. Since we live in the woods and have many squirrels, I thought this might be the answer to our problem.

Not squirrel-proof. The doors that come down to shut off access when a squirrel stands on the perch are PLASTIC and the squirrels just chew through them and can the eat as much as they want.
