Poison Sumac Identification

The Fragrant Sumac (Rhus aromatica), though, doesn't have fragrant flowers. Crush one between your fingers in July and you'll see what we mean. What does smell so great on the Fragrant Sumac is the leaves.

Plant one is a naturalized area of your landscape or perhaps use one in a spot where you have difficult soils. Staghorn Sumac will grow to 25 feet tall with an equal spread. Your wildlife will appreciate the late season treat.

It's a hardy, carefree shrub that provides three-season interest, and when a female, even offers red drupes during the winter months. Tiger Eyes is tolerant of poor soils, even thriving in clay.
