I just purchased the Backyard Boys fly through feeder. I put 8 screws in the roof to make sure it was tight. A coat of Min Wax stain (to seal the wood) and then two coats of polyurethane satin finish.

The seed mix looks really good with an abundance of sizes and types of seed. They used to come eat plain nyger but it would spoil quickly so I thought a mix might work better. At this rate my 20# will last a lifetime.

Log only lasted 3 days. It did attract a variety of birds but the squirrels mananged to greedily eat it. I have replaced it with a log feeder with a squirrel proof cage. Excellent price, I bought 2.

Slight issue with the flow out so you may want to slightly widen to holes. It hold twice or more as much feed so less refilling. But otherwise a solid purchase. We have been looking for a long time for a bird feeder to replace our old one.
