The doors that come down to shut off access when a squirrel stands on the perch are PLASTIC and the squirrels just chew through them and can the eat as much as they want. Not squirrel-proof.

I filled all of the surface holes with exterior grade wood putty. I had some left over asphalt shingles so, I covered the roof with the shingles. Can see myself doing some fine tuning in the future.

I would not recommend this feeder because of this. I regret buying this. All of the others I found online did have the perch attachment. I bought this from Fleet Farm and it does not have the silver perch attachment that all of the other Homestead triple...

Easy to keep clean and they can be separated so the birds do not have to compete We bought three of these for our deck and all three of them leak. I have ten feeders..one in each hanging basket.

It however does not work with the little red squirrels. Very disappointing. Better that than finding them crawling inside feeder and eating all the seed I guess. Wired it shut and they still climb on it and shake seed out.
