We feed lots of hummingbirds. Tried this spring again & finally gave up on it. It seems to be fairly sturdy especially for hummers. Leaks at both ends. I like that it can feed more than the normal feeder.

These cakes seem to be very well received by both the birds and the squirrels that frequent our yard. I am happy with the cost and quick delivery from Fleet Farm. Although we live in Chicago we do get a lot of birds in our yard.

When I set to the most sensitive setting a small red squirrel had some trouble but a big, fat grey squirrel had no problem. Can clearly see when feed is low. Most importantly, it does NOT defeat squirrels.

I find that the feeder stays balanced with 2 cakes--or even one. By the way, it's not necessary to use 4 suet cakes. I loved this feeder from the moment I hung it up--and, what's more important, the birds love it! They were attracted to it immediately.
