This piece has a couple of full length surface checks down the numbered face, as well as 10" and 5" surface checks on the opposite face. To avoid an overlength board shipping fee, we can cut the board, free of charge.

Khaya, or African Mahogany, (Khaya ivorensis) is a beautiful hardwood species from equatorial West Africa. It is similar in appearance and working properties to Honduras Mahogany without the expense.

These are much better than average quality! The color spectrum on these pieces ranges widely from blacks and blues to pinks and reds. It is easy to glue and finish, having similar working properties to Honduras Mahogany.
