Lavender Peonies

In cultivation for over 150 years, ‘Duchesse de Nemours' Peony will add a timeless elegance to your garden's border. Blooming in late spring to early summer, include Peonies with different bloom times for an extended season of fragrance and flowers.

(Paeonia lactiflora) Trim off spent blooms, and clean up wilted foliage as the season ends. The double flowers unfold, inviting admiration with their gentle sweet scent. The dark green glossy foliage adds a stately presence throughout the season.

Our favorite recipes are Lavender shortbread cookies (using about 2 to 3 teaspoons per batch) or Lavender Lemonade (make a strong Lavender tea about 1-2 cups and use it in slightly more concentrated lemonade - it will turn pink).

Lavender's strong floral scent is widely known for its calming, sedative effects. The hydrosol has a more earthy scent than the oil, and has a wide variety of uses, from a natural air freshener to a topical antiseptic.

They retain the famous lavender scent, and should be protected from heat and direct sunlight which will reduce the essential oil that provides that scent. This medium size is 12 - 18 inches long and tied with a blue ribbon.
