I put 8 screws in the roof to make sure it was tight. I had some left over asphalt shingles so, I covered the roof with the shingles. A coat of Min Wax stain (to seal the wood) and then two coats of polyurethane satin finish.

I hope my suggestions will be considered. I bought this because I needed to not have to fill the feeder more often than once a week to fit in my schedule. I got my about 5 years ago.
