Bluegill have good average size. Lake Edward is a consistent walleye producer, but there is a good shallow water bass population too. This is a great lake for trolling pike.

The St. Croix River (Lake St. Croix) has an exceptionally diverse fishery with 63 documented species within its 25 river miles. It is part of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway and is noted for its steep bluffs and fall colors.

Deep weedlines and cribs hold nice crappie and perch in late spring and summer. Quality walleye and muskie available.

A lot of slab crappie are also available. Due to its darker water, Pelican is known as a good cold front lake. When clear lakes are harder to fish, try here.

Clear Lakes contains good numbers of quality walleye, and numerous catfish provide fast action. Trophy muskie are out there as well.

Most anglers fish Medicine Lake for panfish, as there are nice bluegill and crappie populations. Largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are also available.

There are also quality largemouth bass and northern pike, and the muskie population is improving. Although Monona is a large lake located in the midst of metropolitan area, a significant amount of public land offers excellent shore fishing.

Largemouth bass are abundant and includes some 6-pounders. Mid-June through July is considered prime time for trophies. Perch, crappie and bluegill add to the mix. One of Wisconsin's top muskie lakes.

Petenwell Flowage in Juneau and Adams County, Wisconsin is the second largest inland body of water in the state. It is widely known for exciting spring walleye runs and as a quality muskie fishery.

Most action here is centered around the downed timber, deep rock piles and steep drop-offs. The clear water and general lack of vegetation dictates more finesse fishing for walleye, muskie and smallies.

In summer, gamefish and panfish can be lured from the weed pockets and weed edges. Early May and June are best for all species on this 2,409 acre lake. Weed growth is not a problem at this time and the majority of the action is shallow.
