Great cut flowers. Sun to part shade. Flowering in masses from May, June to September, this climbing vine adds magic to any structure in the garden. Tall, 6-10' plants produce an early and lasting display of gorgeous grape-purple to violet flowers.

For best production, plant where the vines are in the sun and the roots are in the shade. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Flowers are very large and bloom in May and June and again in September on 8' vines that need no pruning.

Pruning group B1, meaning pruning is mostly optional, and should be done in the spring after the first flush of blooms. Beautiful when planted behind a low shrub for a bit of extra protection around the roots, or try in a large container with a trellis.
