We LOVE birds and also have a beautiful sun conure, "Yogi", who is entertained by them. The wild birds who enchant our garden love these seeds. I have brought them in the house from the very hot garage, so I hope they will be OK.

We fill half way to see bird on either side. At this price, a must.only down side, birds prefer a perch, so we added a coated hanger piece thru middle, bent on each side now we get 4 birds at a time.

The blue plate I take out and use for water it is two bad it does not come with its own chains for hanging. The only way they could all eat was to pour the seed on the sidewalk where even the black bird would join them.

We feed lots of hummingbirds. Leaks at both ends. It seems to be fairly sturdy especially for hummers. Received this as gift 1 yr ago, thought what a great idea. Tried this spring again & finally gave up on it.

PROS: Looks really nice. When I set to the most sensitive setting a small red squirrel had some trouble but a big, fat grey squirrel had no problem. Most importantly, it does NOT defeat squirrels.
