The mourning doves and collared pigeons tried but were to big and maybe clumsy. This bird accessory serves double duty which is great. I had one of those pine and acrilico feeders but only small birds could use effectively.

When they get dirty, I just wash in some mild detergent, dry and they are good to go again. Sometimes I have 10 or 11 on a sock at one time. The Goldfinches love these socks and they are easy to eat from.

Not squirrel-proof. The doors that come down to shut off access when a squirrel stands on the perch are PLASTIC and the squirrels just chew through them and can the eat as much as they want.
