Better that than finding them crawling inside feeder and eating all the seed I guess. It however does not work with the little red squirrels. Unfortunately the squirrels got the lid off.

Excellent price, I bought 2. It did attract a variety of birds but the squirrels mananged to greedily eat it. I have replaced it with a log feeder with a squirrel proof cage. Log only lasted 3 days.

I had some left over asphalt shingles so, I covered the roof with the shingles. The feeder is, in fact, put together with staples. I put 8 stainless steel screws (#8 X 1.5 inches) (2) at each corner.

I bought this cage along with some suet because the prices were so good. Bought one thinking it would be good. Found the side door open three days in a row and squirrels feasting on the suet block which was lying on the ground.
