Since we live in the woods and have many squirrels, I thought this might be the answer to our problem. Wired it shut and they still climb on it and shake seed out. Thought it was a great feeder until the squirrels figured it out.

Do wish the top of suet feeder was secured to the wire or something though. I have tons of different kinds of woodpeckers including the big Pileated. It is very well made and I am very happy with my purchase.

You must buy the Perky-Pet Transparent Squirrel Baffle to make this feeder work; otherwise I would return it. PROS: Looks really nice. When I set to the most sensitive setting a small red squirrel had some trouble but a big, fat grey squirrel had no problem.
