I find that the feeder stays balanced with 2 cakes--or even one. They especially like using the "floor" to stand on while they eat, so It's a big improvement over the square suet cage feeder that I was using previously.

Have it hanging rope to take it down to fill. It's perfect! I love this feeder as it holds so much seedbut my squirrels like it too. I had one for 5 or 6 years before I had to replace it with a new one.

Is well made and sturdy and should last many years. The blue plate I take out and use for water it is two bad it does not come with its own chains for hanging. The mourning doves and collared pigeons tried but were to big and maybe clumsy.
