I find that the feeder stays balanced with 2 cakes--or even one. They especially like using the "floor" to stand on while they eat, so It's a big improvement over the square suet cage feeder that I was using previously.

It works great. This suet feeder works very very well. My only complaint if only the Smaller birds can get in to eat,but I'm guessing that's how it's Squirrel proof The red squirrels had a party inside of the feeder.
